It was exciting to see our artists of the future at the Elizabeth College ‘Wham’ exhibition last night. This was an exhibition of all works by students studying pre-tertiary (university entrance) art courses and included Art Production, Studio Art, Photography and Digital Art and design. They are hung so that they can be viewed and assessed for their final marks by external assessors.

Of course we were there to see MissM’s first ever portfolio exhibition. She had only decided to upgrade to pre-tertiary art in the middle of the year so has had her work cut out for her preparing and completing her portfolio. Her study was to portray the connection she made with the Children of Africa when she visited Namibia on a World Challenge trip last year. She worked with Acrylics on brown paper.

Of course we are biased but we think she did a pretty good job!

This is my personal favourite

art5This World Challenge trip made a big difference to Molly’s thoughts on life and the world as a whole. Although expensive it was an experience well worth it – if your child ever gets the opportunity, think about it…
