Yesterday saw us up bright and early and down to the Domain for the Mother’s Day Classic once again. The girls and I were volunteers this year instead of partaking and thoroughly enjoyed our job of face painting! Being extreme novices we did our best and no-one complained.(thankfully) The spirit of the day was just wonderful and I could think of no better way to spend the day – doing something for others with my girls. Dad was  there too but he was on stage providing entertainment.

I was very proud of all my beautiful girls – Molly painted many faces and spoke so caringly and encouragingly to lots of little girls and boys, Tess efficiently directed traffic to the six painting chairs and kept the line orderly and happy  and Tilly was the mirror girl running from chair to chair thrusting the one mirror in faces to show the kids our artwork.

Unfortunately we were so busy with thousands of entrants that I did not get one photo to show you. But I can show you some of our practise efforts the night before when the equipment was delivered..

This was my best tiger or is she a pussy cat?

and no, I don’t normally put photos of myself on here so don’t look too close but Tilly painted the left side from a picture and Tess practised spiderman on the right…

…spiderman, puppy dogs, butterflies and pink love hearts were the favourites… a rewarding day for all.

It was so nice to see so many families participating together in the walk or run – yes I had two four year old girls to paint after completing the 4km run!

hope you all enjoyed your Mothers Day and had a special moment to cherish with your family.

Happy mother’s day to my mum and Mum in law – I know you both had great days..

hugs, Helen
