Inspiration all around

'

Well we are home from a big weekend at the Australian Quilt Market, nothing like Spring market we attended in May in the USA but big for us here and an important networking, business and social outing for Hugs 'n Kisses for the year.

It was so lovely to meet up with new and old friends, designers, store owners and visitors.

Miss M - my biggest girl of 13 came again to further her trade show skills (she is trying very hard to earn a trip to Houston with me next year!) did a wonderful job helping us out and was duly rewarded with an overload of inspiration from

Yes, we attended Amy's talk on Saturday night and were both highly inspired. Molly has just chosen her subjects for next year which included photography, arts x 2 and design subjects - everything she could fit in. Amy wrote a lovely inspiring comment in her sketch book, spent a good 10 minutes chatting to both of us and then also signed her Midwest Modern book for Molly.... She feels very special. She then bought Davids' autograph (thats Amy's wonderful husband who did all the photography in the book) with a piece of Tassie chocolate fudge! They are truly lovely genuine people who charmed all who they met and spoke to. (Molly coloured a Boobie Button for Amy in her fabric colours and to her delight she wore it on her jacket)

Of course there was also much inspiration and excitement seeing all the new fabric ranges, Designers new creations and projects and new and creative Aussie designers.

It was also lovely to being sharing my market experiences for the first time with Deirdre and Leonie, and Jhoanna who I am now working with under Pattern Press. It was my pleasure to introduce them to customers and share them around to all and I do hope they enjoyed the experience as they begin their path as pattern designers.

Jhoanna and her very popular Happy Chibi Dolls. I am so glad I finally got to me Jhoanna instead of just emailing. She is just beautiful and an inspiration to me also.

Here we are with good friend, designer and blogger - and Angel provider Sue Daley of Patchwork with Busy Fingers.... She is always good for a brainstorm and support.

back to work now, the fun is over...
