It seems so long since I posted. I have had my parents visiting and a trip to Launceston (2 hours north) for rowing and another this weekend 4 hrs North to Lake Barrington for rowing. The season is almost over which will seem like a relief but I am sure we will then miss the camaraderie and social aspect of rowing until we start up again in September.

My trip to Loxton last weekend was unexpectedly postponed –woops, but never fear, it is being  rescheduled, so now you may be able to join us. Contact Trish if you are interested to find out the new dates… I will keep my special projects just for you all for when it goes ahead.

Of course that meant I got to go away for the weekend as mentioned and of course that meant sightseeing, just a little. I managed to find two wonderful markets full of antiques and knick knacks, one in Launceston and the other in the quaint town of Evandale. Look what I found for my collection!

I am not sure of the age or value of them all but I am not choosing on worth, just the colours and designs I like. The top two in this pic are Japanese and the bottom left set is Lord Nelson ware which I have been collecting for several years for a girlfriend. Think I’ll keep this one though. And I just love the soft colours of the set in the top photo.

Then I also managed to squeeze this in the already overloaded car with Grandma, Grandpa and three girls and all of their bags and belongings!

an old battered suitcase?

but what’s inside?

Its a Bernina 707 complete with all of its bits, feet, and manual.. I paid $25 for it, actually $22 after Grandma put her bartering skills to work! Now I haven't tried it yet but he promised it worked! It will be perfect for tandem sewing with the girls.

Look in the manual, whoever the one owner was has stitched a sample of every stitch and ‘lesson’ in the book and pinned them all in

that’s dedication.

All in all a good weekend I think

hugs, Helen
