I have finally finished up pattern writing. I like to check and double check and triple check to see that I have included everything I possibly can in the pattern to make it a pleasant experience for all who stitch any of my projects… after all, it is supposed to be a pleasant experience. So now I can show you my new little BOM project called ‘Times Gone By’

I have always loved the antique and traditional embroidery samplers stitched by young girls (and sometimes boys) in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today they are searched for and collected as a record of our past.

This sampler is my modern day version using all of the techniques I like to use instead of just embroidery and cross stitch. So it can be a sampler of your stitching life to personalise and pass down through your generations to come..

The quilt or wallhanging comes in 7 parts and everything you will need is included – except the fabric. So there are hexagon papers, foundation papers, iron on transfers, design sheets and lots of step by step diagrams and hints along the way.

I used Lynette’s new Summertime Friends fabrics- remember when I showed you them? – just 13 fat eights and then 65cm of linen background fabric. And I used my favourite Presencia perle #16 threads but you can use stranded threads also.

Some of your favourite stores have already ordered the patterns to run next year, but if they haven't ask them to as they are now ready. If you are in a hurry to start you can get them here now along with some other companion projects.

I must also mention that there are two bonus patterns in the BOM for these little birdees (without beaks!) and also a cushion to match your wallhanging. There is also an alternate verse included in month three in case you don't like or identify with the one I used.

I do hope you like my new little treasure and would like to stitch it as a reminder of your life for your family to treasure in times to come.

hugs for today
