I know you have all been waiting eagerly for this announcement  - some of you have even beaten me to this post! Its nice to know you all enjoyed it so much last year that you can’t wait to start again.

so, we are off… a few changes this year to make my life easier and hopefully to make a smoother swap happening for you all.

registration is now closed, sorry, try again next year.

Once the registration has closed you will be then sent an email with your partners details. The free projects will begin on the 17th August.

A recap of the rules and how it all works for newcomers.

Welcome to the Stitcher’s Angel swap project 2009. There are two ways of taking part. Firstly you can just visit here every week beginning Monday 17th August to view and print a free pattern - yes a free pattern from a fantastic designer. There will be seven free patterns here for you all to collect, one each week.

Secondly, you can join in the swap by filling out and emailing the form below. You will be allocated a Secret Stitching angel and will be given a Stitcher for you to spoil. Over the seven weeks you need to hand make at least three projects to surprise your stitcher with. Of course you can make more than three but it must be at least three. And you too will receive at least three lovely surprises in your letter box.

A few changes from last year to avoid some of the problems we had. Firstly you now must have a blog to participate (this is so we can try and find you when your halo drops, so partners can establish what you like and so you can publicly thank your angel when goodies arrive, and she then knows they have made it)

You also must be willing to partner internationally  - so if you don’t wish to pay postage overseas in the event you get assigned a partner overseas then I am sorry, this swap is not for you. It was just too hard to juggle and manage with those restrictions.

Thirdly, if your packages do not arrive your name will be permanently blacklisted from any further swaps and freely given to other swap divas who ask so PLEASE only enter if you are willing and able to complete your commitment. (this does not apply to life’s unexpected happenings – we all understand things happen, but it only takes a quick email to let us know and we will then understand and/or make other arrangements).

The theme of the swap is Roses so all of the free projects will be small items featuring roses. You don't have to make the free projects but you do need to make three things of choice for your secret Stitcher. To make this fun we will keep your identity a secret! You can reveal yourselves anyway you like at the end of the swap.

Join in the fun, add the badge to your blog (instructions below) and spread the word. We want secret goodies shipping all across the world.

We have a new badge for the new swap. Read here for instructions on putting it on your blog.

Registrations close on the 8th August so get your name in, spread the word to friends and blog friends and get ready for a lovely few months of new friendships.

hugs, Helen
